We got a killer deal on these awesome brand-name ultrabright red LEDs. Factory new in package, manufactured in 2007. Standard 5 mm package (T 1 3/4), water-clear lens.

Lite-On part number LTL2R3SEK. Red 630 nm (about the same color as a HeNe Laser), 3700 mCd typical at 20 mA, with 30-degree viewing angle. And, (get this) rated for 50 mA continuous use!

Very bright, very reliable. Designed for use in traffic signals and other outdoor display applications.

Originally sold for about $0.41 each. Available on cut tape for just $0.04 each (minimum 50 pieces) or in a reel of 1000 for $27.
